How to land your dream job

In October 2019, I moved to Switzerland to do my master’s degree at Hotel Institute Montreux, where I stayed for about 9 months. I am now doing my dream job in a very special place: I am the director of a four-star hotel in France.

What are some lessons you have learned about being successful?

1. Get the job done

It's important to complete the role/task you are assigned to, no matter how difficult or tiring… Just do it! Giving your everything to the task is the first step to landing your dream job. It doesn’t require you to be perfect.

2. Have the right mindset

It's important to have the right mindset. For example, during the pandemic, I prepared myself to the fact that it would be difficult to find a job or an internship. However, I never allowed myself to stop dreaming about my future, learning new things, and developing myself further. You can’t control everything, particularly the external factors, but you can control yourself.

3. Don't give up

Being a director at a young age is not easy and it comes with alot of responsibility. My advice for you is to not give up too soon. Be patient, plan your day, and avoid anxiety.
