Freddie For A Day festival reaches new success in Montreux
25,000CHF raised for Mercury Phoenix Trust during student-run event
The 4th edition of the Freddie for a Day festival welcomed over 7,500 visitors in Montreux on May 27th-28th. Thanks to the efforts of Swiss Education Group and two of its member schools, Hotel Institute Montreux and Swiss Hotel Management School, 25,000CHF will be donated to the Mercury Phoenix Trust supporting the fight against AIDS around the world.
This colourful and youth-friendly event was inspired by the global initiative "Freddie For A Day" launched in 2010 by the Mercury Phoenix Trust Foundation in memory of Freddie Mercury. The festive atmosphere hosted concerts, DJs, dance performances, a flash mob and of course culinary specialties from around the world, prepared and served by the hospitality students themselves.
