Swiss Education Group and Al-Ahliyya Amman University Sign Landmark Memorandum of Understanding

In a significant step towards expanding educational experiences in the Middle East, Swiss Education Group (SEG) and Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at an official ceremony held in the AAU presidential office on July 2, 2024. 

The ceremony was attended by distinguished representatives from both institutions, including the President of AAU, Prof. Dr. Sari Hamdan; the Vice President for International Affairs and Quality, Prof. Dr. Anas R. Al-Soud; and the Dean of the Faculty of Culinary Arts & Hospitality, Dr. Suzy Hatough. Representing SEG were Director of Marketing and Development, Ms. Lubna Ali and Regional Manager, Ms. Mera Alsmairat.

This event marks a pivotal collaboration aimed at providing international education, practical training opportunities and cultural experience for students, significantly bolstering their skills and knowledge in the hospitality industry.

This MOU, set to take effect for the next intakes, Fall 2024, is the first official agreement between SEG and a Jordanian university. It aims to join forces with AAU to strengthen the educational experience of Jordanian students who are keen on pursuing a career in the global hospitality industry. The collaboration will offer AAU students opportunities to enroll in study abroad programs at one of SEG’s prestigious schools, including the Swiss Hotel Management School (SHMS), HIM Business School, Culinary Arts Academy Switzerland, and César Ritz Colleges Switzerland.

We are delighted to sign this agreement with AAU: a leading university in Jordan, with stellar reputation and faculty caliber. We trust this agreement will be of mutual benefit to both parties and we look forward to starting this fruitful collaboration with AAU.

Key Features of the MOU

• Diverse International Study Programs: Students can pursue diplomas and certificates across different SEG institutions, from 6-week programs at SHMS to one-year abroad experiences that include six months of study and a global internship.
• Collaborative Activities: The partnership will explore collaborative activities, including faculty visits for masterclasses and joint events, further enriching the academic and practical experiences of the students.
