Read on to find out how building and creating strong emotional connections between herself and her company has helped IHTTI Graduate Zhanna Safronova to succeed as a Sales Executive for Belmond Reid’s Palace – Portugal’s Leading Hotel since 2016 and Europe’s Leading Island Resort 2018, World Travel Awards.

Work for a company you believe in

When I arrived in Madeira, I instantly fell in love with the Belmond Reid’s Palace as a property and personally connected with the brand values of Belmond company in general. Coming to work each day, it is a pleasure for me to help people discover this beautiful corner of paradise.

The country of Portugal belongs to my heart and to work for the best hotel in the country is a true privilege.

Be genuine and keep your message consistent across personal social platforms

The impression that you make in person should match the personal brand you have created online. Your social channels are important because they are often the first impression you give to potential clients and partners who are based around the world.

70% of the content I publish on my personal social accounts are connected with the work I do.

Work for a company that supports you outside of work hours

In addition to my work with the hotel, I work for a model agency based in Madeira Island. I do many events in the area, including the catwalk for Funchal Fashion Week and Madeira Film Festival and was recently featured on Essential Magazine’s cover. When I received the offer from an agency, I first decided to speak directly with the HR Department to see how they felt about this. I received their approval and the company has been very supportive of my work ever since.

Work doesn’t end at the end of the work day

Madeira is quite a small island in terms of social life and it took no time at all before the majority of the Island knew about the new Russian girl working for Belmond Reid’s Palace. When I am out socially, there is no chance I won’t meet partners or colleagues, so it is important for me to always carry myself professionally – even outside of work hours.
