Prestigious Fellowship Awarded to Swiss Education Group Chief Academic Officer

The Swiss Education Group’s Chief Academic Officer, Mr Emanuel Douglas Donhauser has been recognised as a Fellow of THE-ICE in the Outstanding Professional Category for his role in innovation driving excellence in education by the International Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education (THE-ICE).

Voted by his peers, the award represents Mr. Donhauser’s significant positive contribution to the tourism and hospitality education sector. Mr Donhauser leads an academic team of over 250 including 30 different nationalities and over 5,500 students annually across Swiss Education Group schools - the largest hospitality education provider in Switzerland.

First Hospitality School in the World to Transition to iPad Tablet Technology

The Fellowship recognizes the innovative academic approach he spearheaded across the Swiss Education Group’s hospitality schools. Innovation in education has always been a passion for Mr Donhauser with his most-recent project on industry leadership being the launch of  iPad tablet technology for teaching and learning across all Swiss Education Group schools.  This places the Swiss Education Group in a leading role as the first hospitality school in the world to make the transition to iPad technology.

The purpose of this initiative was to ensure that students and faculty across Swiss Education Group schools are offered the best possible tools to augment their learning experience while remaining at the forefront of cutting-edge teaching and learning technology. 

Setting Standards in the Hospitality and Tourism Education Sector

The prestigious recognition was presented during THE-ICE 8th International Panel of Experts (IPoE) Forum 2014, ‘Developing Quality and Value-adding to Partnerships between Institutions & Industry’. THE-ICE is a not-for-profit international accreditation agency committed to the ongoing quality assurance of tourism, hospitality, leisure, events and culinary arts (“TH&E”) education, training and research through the recognition, benchmarking, development and promotion of excellence.
